Teddy Pendergrass: If You Don't Know Me

The documentary tells the story of the legendary R&B singer, Teddy Pendergrass. His fame came from be the lead singer in the 'Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes' band. After some confrontation with the crew about money and some creative issues, he started a solo career under the Philadelphia label, reaching four consecutive platinum albums, then a record for an African-American R&B artist. Unfortunately, in March 1982 (aged 31), he suffered a heavy car accident which left him paralytic for life. That incident, although the brutality of it, did not make him leave the stage. In 2007, he decided to finish his professional life, and a few years later, in January 2010, he died from colon cancer at the age of 59.
