Tale of Sheperds

Mari, a geologist of the year 2027, is finishing her studies as an intern at the Museum of Prehistory and Paleontology of Orce, a town located in Granada. The young woman trusts enormously in technology and the benefits that it can provide as a tool in the agricultural and ecological world.

Her final project is the creation of a digital archive that compiles all the farmhouses in Orce, which have been in decline and abandonment since the 80s. However, she meets José during the investigation. This is a shepherd who has been badly injured while taking out his sheeps, so Mari helps him.

Once they are settled in his house, José's mother invites Jonás, a pensioner shepherd, to have dinner with them. The three of them (the young woman with a vision for the future, the sheperd who lives in the present and the old man who observes the past) begin a debate about the agricultural sector and the future of ecology from the point of view and moment of life. of each one.

Jaime Puertas Castillo directs 'Tale of Sheperds', a fiction that opens a debate, but also invites the viewer to think with its images and silences. The director covers rural life in the south of Spain, combining analogue with digital, the past and the future.
