Supernova

Second feature film directed and written by Harry Macqueen that competed in the Official Selection of the 68th edition at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. 'Supernova' tells Sam (Colin Firth) and Tusker's (Stanley Tucci) last holidays. They have been a couple for 20 years, Sam is an internationally recognized pianist and concert performer while Tusker is an important writer, author of several best-sellers. Both decide to take a tour through England with a motorhome, with which they plan to visit the places where they were on their first dates, when they fell in love, when they decided to become a couple, as well as the old summer house of the Sam's parents, where his sister now lives and where she has prepared a big party for when the couple arrives.

The reason that Sam and Tusker make the trip is none other than to say farewell Tusker has been diagnosed with dementia and his worsening is being faster than they both thought. Both know that this may be their last vacation as such and they seek to take advantage of the time they have left, since that is the only thing they have before Tusker stops being the man Sam fell in love with.

'Supernova' seeks to be a romantic drama about the reality of those couples who have been living together for a long time and who must face unexpected adversities in life. A film starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci along with Pippa Haywood, Sarah Woodward, Peter MacQueen, James Dreyfus and Ian Drysdale.
