Plot
Stu Prasad (Kumail Nanjiani, 'The Big Sick') moonlights as a Los Angeles Uber driver by night whilst trying to make his own business ventures work by day. Stu is shocked when one night of work is thrown completely off track when a stoic LAPD detective named Vic Manning (Dave Bautista, 'Guardians of the Galaxy') orders Stu to drive him around the city as he searches for drug kingpin Oka Tedjo (Iko Uwais, 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'). For Vic, this mission is deeply personal, as Tedjo is the reason his rookie partner, Sara Morris (Karen Gillan, 'Not Another Happy Ending'), died on the job a year earlier. Since Vic got laser eye surgery, however, he can't take on the task alone, so it's down to Stu to help him bring Tedjo in.
Over the night, the two drastically different men begin to bond as Stu grapples with his feelings for his best friend, Becca (Betty Gilpin, 'Isn't It Romantic?'), and Vic realises that his struggles with toxic masculinity are preventing him from being fully present as a father to his daughter, Nicole (Natalie Morales, 'Parks and Recreation').
'Stuber' is a buddy cop comedy directed by Michael Dowse ('Fubar Age of Computer, 'Preacher', 'Man Seeking Woman') and written by Tripper Clancy ('Hot Dog', 'Just One of the Gynos', 'Four Against the Bank').
