Plot
Directed by Icelandic director Rúnar Rúnarsson ('Volcano') and starring Atli Oskar Fjalarsson, Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson, Rade Serbedzija and Kjeld Kristbjorg. Winner of the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. 'Sparrows' talks about a boy, played by the young actor Fjalarsson Atli Oskar, who moves to live with his father, Rade Serbedzija, in northern Iceland. The parent-child relationship is the heart of this raw drama, with the landscape as another protagonist. In 'Sparrows' the landscape is dominated by the perennial light of the polar latitudes, near Greenland; blurring the line between day and night, stressing the monotony. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
