Song Without a Name

Georgina Condori (Pamela Mendoza) is a Peruvian girl in the eighties that has dedicated her body and soul to Andean music. One day, two radically different situations collide when her newborn baby mysteriously disappears in the clinic where the child was born whilst the political situation in Peru grows ever more unstable. The Revolutionary Government of the Armed Forces falls and the first democratic regimes after twelve years of dictatorship begin. Meanwhile, the terrorism of the Shining Path group and the MRTA threaten the streets, so when Georgina loses a baby in the midst of political chaos, she thinks that she has lost her child forever. However, Pedro Campos (Tommy Párraga), a young journalist based in Lima, decides to help her and starts an investigation to find Georgina's daughter. Both Georgina and Pedro will grapple with despair and helplessness as the wade through country consumed by violence, weapons and children torn from their mothers.

This film, based on a devastating true story, is the first film made by Peruvian director Melina León. The film emerged as the winner of the Colón de Oro in the 45th edition of the Ibero-American Film Festival of Huelva and was one of the films of the Quinzaine des réalisateurs selection at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
