Plot

Ten years after the adventures of Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) in Edge City, the legendary Mask of Loki finds its way into the hands of an aspiring cartoonist, Tim Avery, whose new baby son named Alvery is born with the Mask's spectacular powers. But the really big trouble begins when Loki himself, the god of mischief, comes looking for his mask, under command by his father Odin. And he's willing to do whatever it takes to get it back. on of the Mask is a 2005 American fantasy family-comedy film directed by Lawrence Guterman and starring Jamie Kennedy as Tim Avery, an aspiring cartoonist from Fringe City who has just had his first child born with the powers of the Mask. It is the stand-alone sequel to the successful 1994 film The Mask, an adaptation of Dark Horse Comics which starred Jim Carrey.

The fictitious city featured in this film is "Fringe City." The city in the original La máscara (1994) film which is seen in the beginning of this sequel, is called "Edge City".

Jack Black turned down the role of Tim Avery.
