It's the first movie produced by the company of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, Stolen Pictures.

The movie was filmed at Stowe School, near Buckingham. Director Crispian Mills and cinematographer John de Borman were students at that school.

The school's motto is Per Caedes Ad Astra, which means in english "Through Bloodshed to the Stars".
