Slack Bay

France, through the summer of 1910. During their holidays, the high-class family Van Peteghem travel to their luxurious mansion in Slack Bay, a place where the sea and Slack River mix during the high tides. In that place, they enjoy swimming, sailing, walking and socializing with the locals like with the Bréfort family, a group of fishermen, even if they are beneath them. Billie, the rebellious daughter, falls in love with Ma Loute, a member of the peculiar Bréfort family. When both families discover the relationship between their beloved ones, a great confusion will take over their lives, threatening their lifestyles and all their social conventions. In the middle of this situation, some tourists begin to disappear in strange circumstances in Costa Canal. Dragged by this mystery, inspectors Machin and Malfoy discover that the territorial origin of such crimes is in Slack Bay.
