Plot
'Skin' is a movie which tells the true history of Bryon Widner, a neonazi member of one of the most important skinheads organizations of United States. The education based on the white supremacism within which he has been raised since childhood has turned him into the bitter person he is now. Bryon's hatred of all that is perceived as "different" is physically symbolised in the stark tattoos and far-right symbols that cover his body. However, one day Bryon meets Julie, a single mother who motivates him to start a personal change in his life. The love that the protagonist feels for this woman encourages him to leave the world based on the hate and the violence that he has operated in for decades. Determined to stop disseminating hatred and fear, Bryon turns to human rights activist Daryle about cutting ties with the vicious gang.
'Skin' is written and directed by the Israeli filmmaker Guy Nattiv and won the 2018 Oscar for Best Short Film. The movie stars Jamie Bell ('Rocketman, Billy Elliot') alongside Danielle Macdonald ('Paradise Hills'), Vera Farmiga ('The Conjuring') and Bill Camp ('Joker'). The film had its worldwide release at the International Toronto Film Festival, in which it won a Fipresci award. Most recently, it was screened at the Film Festivals of Berlin and Tribeca.
