Plot
'Seneca: On the Creation of Earthquakes' is an historical and biographical movie which narrates the famous philosopher Seneca's life during year 65 a.C. in the city of Ancient Rome. During this period, the infamous emperador Nero dedicates to have fun through violence and megalomania.
However, he wasn't always like that because he had a mentor and adviser since his childhood who was the piece Nero needed to get the power.
This piece was Seneca, but the valuable lessons of Nero's profesor weren't enough for him, the frustrated emperador got tired of the philosopher and accused him of being a mass assassin, even though it wasn't true, to end his life. After this accusation, Nero offered him to commit suicide to the one man that taught him everything he knows.
Following Socrate's example, Seneca wants to say goodbye to the ones that follow his lectures with one last philosophy lecture, after accepting his awaiting destiny. The famous philosopher has decided that, after saying his goodbyes, he will get his veins cut to consolidate his place in history with a long and painful death.
Directed by Robert Schwentke and written by Matthew Wilder, starred by John Malkovich playing Seneca in company of a cast that includes Geraldine Chaplin, Tom Xander, Lilith Stangenberg, Louis Hoffman, Samuel Finzi, Julian Sands and Annika Meier, among others.
