Plot
Paul is a little boy who has always lived in an orphanage since he was born. An austere building in the Parisian working class suburbs in 1930. Entrusted to a joyful woman called Célestine and her husband Borel, the rather stiff gamekeeper of a vast estate in Sologne. There the boy discovers a new world for him: huge forest, fields...All of the lands belong to the Count de la Fresnaye, an elderly taciturn man who lives alone in his manor. The Count allows poachers on his estate, but Borel hunts them down, most especially Totoche, the most elusive among them. In the forest Paul will learn about life and above all he discovers a heavier secret that is related with why is he arrived there, next to that forest.
