Plot
In 1979 Scotland, Davie (Conor Berry) is a happy-go-lucky lad who spends his time organising local gigs and avoiding run-ins with the local gangs. Bored with small-time gigs, Davie and his friends, John (Grant Robert Keelan, 'Automata', 'Cold') and Scot (Sean Connor, 'Trust Me', 'Anna and the Apocalypse'), appeal to the heavy metal band Iron Maiden and ask them to perform in Dundee. The band's agent agrees - provided that the three boys can come up with the money and supplies needed to cover the performance. Davie, John and Scot are determined to scrape together the funds needed to bring some alternative music to the Dundee Scene, whatever hare-brained scheme it requires.
Dave Mclean writes and directs 'Schemers', which is based on his own life and is his directorial debut. Khaled Spiewak ('Happy Hour', 'Level 4') and Kyle Titteron ('The Traveller') reinforce the script. Joining the cast of this comedy historical drama are Tara Lee ('A Date for Mad Mary', 'The Fall'), Blair Robertson ('The Moment Trap'), Mingus Johnston ('All the Devil's Men'), Paula Masterson ('No Shade'), Carolyn Bonnyman ('Hounslow Diaries'), Alastair Thomson Mills ('Gone to Ground'), Reanne Farley ('Emmerdale Farm'), Kerry Browne ('The Code') and Jim Sweeney ('Outlander')..
