Plot
The film 'Scenes from a Marriage' is based on its homonymous Swedish tv series. Ingmar Bergman is again the flimmaker and writer of the film. In addition, the whole cast came back from the tv series to do the film. It chronicles the life of Marianne and Johan, a family lawyer especialices in divorce and a psychology teacher, and their marriage through many years in which we can see the development in their relationship: infidelity, divorce and subsequent partners.
It is not simply a narrative about a relationship and its ups and downs, but a film that examines topics like love, loneliness, what it means to feel fulfilled or the need of security and validation of another person.
