Saturno

In 2018, the grandfather of the director and screenwriter Daniel Tornero is arrested for child abuse and attempt of kidnapping an eight-year-old girl. Now, the seventy-five-year-old man lives in a rural town as he has been exiled by his own son (and father of the director), José, where he waits his sentence of twelve years in prison.

'Saturno' is a documentary made by Daniel Tornero, grandson of the pedophile, who investigates the recent wounds that his grandfather has caused in his family. The footage moves around the trial of the septuagenarian man and the assimilation and loss of his family. None of its members expected such bad news, not even his son, but, according to 'Saturno', no one really seemed to know the grandfather as well as they thought.

Within this tense environment, the members of the home will generate debates about child abuse and pedophilia to try to understand the psyche of the arrested elderly man. José, the director's father, will even question himself when he realizes that his relationship with his children is not as different as his father's one (excluding the attraction to kids).

'Saturno' has won some awards, such as the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Malaga Festival.
