Saturn Return

'Saturn Return' is a 2024 musical drama directed by Isaki Lacuesta and Pol Rodríguez, inspired by the Spanish musical band Los Planetas. The plot is set in 1998, in the Granada music scene, and fictionalizes the creative process behind the group's third album: Segundo Premio. In his most difficult moment, the bassist says goodbye and the guitarist is immersed in a spiral of self-destruction.

The cast includes Daniel Ibáñez Rodríguez as "El Cantante" (trans. J), Stéphanie Magnin Vella as "La Bajista" (trans. May Oliver), Francisco Martín Ocete, known as Cristalino , as "El Guitarrista" (trans. by Florent Muñoz), Mario Fernández Olmedo "Mafo" as "El Battery" (trans. by Eric Jiménez), Javier "Chesco" Ruiz, Eduardo Rejón and Los Planetas, interpreting themselves.

The film is a Spanish-French co-production by La Terraza Films, Áralan Films, Ikiru Films, Capricci Films, Bteam Prods., Sideral Cinema and Toxicosmos AIE. It was filmed in several locations in Granada, including Campo del Príncipe.

BTeam Pictures will be in charge of distribution in Spain, while Capricci Films will distribute it in France. Latido Films acquired the international sales rights. The film was presented at the Malaga Festival on March 5, 2024 and at the D'A Film Festival in Barcelona on April 4, 2024. The theatrical release is scheduled for May 24, 2024.
