Samouni Road

'Samouni Road' is a documentary set on the rural outskirts of Gaza in a farming community. The Samuni family is preparing to celebrate a wedding, being the first celebration since the last war. Amal, Fuad, their cousins and brothers have all lost their parents, houses and gardens. The reconstruction of their neighborhoods and their lives progresses little by little. The greatest difficulty they encounter in the Samuni family is the reconstruction of their own memory. The lost memory of a tree that is no longer where it was, the coffee that came to its father, the children running through the garden. In the documentary, the recollection of memories of the young survivors is explored. 'Samouni Road' transmits a portrait of before, during and after the tragic events that changed so many lives, those of the young Samuni among them.

The 128-minute feature film will be released on March 13, 2020.
