Saludos Amigos

The sixth animated feature film of the Disney factory was produced under the auspices of the Good Neighbor Policy of the former president of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, with whom Walt Disney and several animators and artists from the animation studio left for South America to learn more about the culture and customs of several countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia or Chile. Throughout their trip, several short films will be narrated in which Donald Duck is shown visiting Lake Titicaca, a small plane called Pedro that must deliver by mail crossing the Andes between Santiago and Mendoza, the uses and customs of the gauchos of the Pampa in the hands of the gaucho Goofy and the exotic trip of the Donald Duck to Rio de Janeiro, where he will meet Joe Carioca, his Brazilian friend who will show him the rhythm of the samba touring Copacabana and Ipanema quarters. Nominated for three Academy Awards in 1943 and the first film of the so-called "Age of War and Postwar", in which Disney produced the so-called "film-package".
