Plot

Director Emerald Fennell, known for the Oscar-winning 'Promising Young Woman', brings us a beautiful and perverse story of privilege and desire. A student struggling to find his place at Oxford University finds himself drawn into the charming and aristocratic world.

Saltburn tells a perverse story about desire and privilege starring a student named Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) who is an outsider at Oxford until he feels attracted to Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi, from Euphoria), a handsome member of the wealthy elite. Felix invites him to his family's enormous estate, where Oliver meets a twisted group of characters who say and do things that will make you suffer, but Fennell is betting big on the fact that these dark moments will come close to the humanity of Oliver. he.

Set in the mid-2000s, 'Saltburn', which will open the London Film Festival before being released in theaters by Amazon and MGM in early December, is a classic gothic story that balances the fun, the dark and the disturbing.

Complete the cast Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe and Carey Mulligan. The production is carried out by Emerald Fennell, Margot Robbie and Josey McNamara. Keoghan, known for his Oscar-nominated role in Inisherin's Banshee, takes on the demanding lead role that requires a delicate touch and a captivating presence.

Character change

Carey Mulligan said that the role Emerald Fennell originally offered her was not the one she ended up playing. Mulligan read the script and found she wanted to play a different character, and Fennell agreed to her request to play this other role instead.

Preparing his role

Jacob Elordi read Evelyn Waugh's novel, 'Brideshead Revisited' as preparation for his role, which director Emerald Fennell had recommended to him as a way to get into character.

Statue design

The Minotaur statue was designed using Barry Keoghan's (Oliver) body as the reference.
