Plot
Following a mysterious accident involving one of her patients, the awkward, timid and pious Maud (Morfydd Clark, 'His Dark Materials', 'The Personal History of David Copperfield') leaves her job with the NHS to become a private carer. Her new charge is Amanda (Jennifer Ehle, 'Pride and Prejudice', 'Zero Dark Thirty'), a famous former dancer who struggles to balance her terminal cancer diagnosis with her lavish and wild lifestyle.
Maud, a devout Catholic, is convinced that God intends for her to save Amanda's soul by any means necessary before she passes away and her efforts to fulfil God's plan soon lead to a dangerous obsession with Amanda. The conflict between the two women becomes an angry, sexually charged push and pull as Maud fights to save Amanda and Amanda insists that she is not the one who needs saving.
'Saint Maud' is written and directed by Rose Glass ('Room 55', 'The Silken Strand'). Starring alongside Ehle and Clark are Lily Knight ('Their Finest'), Lily Frazer ('Ladhood', 'Sex Education'), Turlough Convery ('Sanditon', 'My Mad Fat Diary'), Rosie Sansom ('Episodes', 'Doctors'), Marcus Hutton ('Made in Dagenham'), Carl Prekopp ('The Feed'), Noa Bodner ('The Crossmaker', 'Rome') and Takatsuna Mukai ('Night Train', 'Final Portrait').
