Plot
Set in Hawai in 1920, 'Running for Grace' follows the story of Jo, an orphan local boy who starts working for the new doctor in the coffee fields where he lives, which show the social reality of the moment and are the clear representation of the social class and race differences. The boy, who after the years pass by ends up being the doctor's assistant and works delivering medicine to the patients, eventually falls in love with the daughter of the owner of the plantation, Grace (Olivia Ritchie). The movie starred by Matt Dillon and Jim Caviezel explores a love that fights against the prejudice imposed by society, the differences of class and the barriers imposed over race in that moment, ones the couple will have to leave behind.
