Romeo and Juliet

Adaptation of the classic William Shakespeare. The young Romeo Montague and his friends perform at a party organized by the Capulets with the intention of causing trouble. There, Romeo meets Juliet Capulet and immediately falls for her. It is story of two young lovers who, despite opposition from their families, decide to get married in secret and live together. However, family pressure and a series of fatalities lead to suicide two lovers. Finally, the death of both reconciles both families.

Directed by Franco Zeffirelli, the film earned 4 nominations and 2 Oscars in 1968: Best Cinematography and Best Costume Design a Golden Globe nomination for Best Foreign Language Film and a BAFTA award for Best Costume Design plus other five nominations.
