Roman Israel, Esq.

'Roman J. Israel Esq' is a dramatic film directed by Dan Gilroy ('Nightcrawler') that takes place in the context of the criminal court system of Los Angeles. The plot of the film moves around a defense lawyer (Denzel Washington) who finds himself in a mid life crisis that will change his life from head to toe and will lead him to make important life choices. When he stars he is just an idealistic lawyer that want to make the world a better place, but a series of unfortunate events (such as the death of his civil rights mentor and friend) change all the work he has made during his years of career. George Pierce makes him an offer to be part of his company and he will turn into a man of extreme action.
