Rita

Rita is a seven-year-old girl who lives with her family and with her five-year-old brother Lolo in the 1984's Seville. It is summertime, and they are both enjoying their holidays despite the enormous heat in the city. In addition, the European Football Championship is about to begin. Spain has reached the quarterfinals and has a high chance of winning the competition.

Although the two brothers are happy, the viewer observes the decadent life of their parents from their innocent point of view. While Rita and Lolo play counting cars sitting on the street, their mother is on the verge of collapse as she lives unhappily. Their father, on the other hand, barely shows affection to others. The only thing that interests him is the European Football Championship.

Despite this, Rita and Lolo's calm environment suddenly changes with an unexpected event that involves the police. Meanwhile, the young girl continues dreaming about visiting the beach and making friends.

'Rita' is a film directed by the actress Paz Vega, who begins as a filmmaker in this project, where she also plays Rita and Lolo's mother. The film is written by herself, since her greatest desire was to capture the innocent vision of children in a sad and hostile environment.
