Plot
Based on a novel by Didier Eribon, 'Return to Reims' features the performance of Adèle Haenel ('Portrait of a Woman on Fire'). It is an archival documentary film about an intimate and political history of the French working class from the early 1950s to the present day. The feature film has been directed by Jean-Gabriel Périot, a French director specializing in documentary film and short films, winner of 19 awards out of 26 nominations received. Among his recognitions we can highlight the C.I.C.A.E. at the Berlin International Festival, the award for Best International Film at the Docaviv International Documentary Film Festival and a special mention at the Almería International Film Festival. The production of the film has been in charge of Les Films de Pierre and Arte France Cinéma and it has been distributed in Spain by Atalante Films. From Fotogramas they maintain that: "The mastery of the filmmaker to choose the most illustrative fragments of the essay is captivating. (...) A political and intelligent cinema, which proposes to the public to abandon its role as a simple spectator", and from Caimán magazine: "A brilliant political essay, based on a very personal and free adaptation (...) an intelligent, revealing, eloquent, valuable and combative film."
