Return To Raqqa

'Return to Raqqa' is the chronicle of what it may be one of the most famous kidnappings in the recent history, the one where 19 journalists and NGO officials of different nationalities were captured by the Islamic State. One of the protagonists of the documentary and of the terrible event, the Spanish reporter Marc Marginedas, the first captured to be released, speaks about this. Not everyone had the same luck as him, six of the prisoners were beheaded in front of a camera to share the video worldwide. The images were broadcasted around the world and turn out to be a tragic, but tremendously effective, communication strategy by the Islamic State.

Marc Marginedas, Cristina Marginedas, Marta López, Javier Espinosa, Kino Gabriel, Pierre Torres, Daniel Rye, Art Sotloff take part in 'Return To Raqqa' with the aim of bring some light to this dark tragedy of which so little we know.

'Return To Raqqa' is directed by the documentaries director and journalist Albert Solé and the documentaries director Raúl Cuevas. Both are screenwriters of the project. Furthermore, Cuevas works on the photography and editing of the documentary and Solé works on the production. Enric Teruel is the composer and Gemma Rodríguez is the production director.
