Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

The 'Resident Evil' video game franchise returns to cinemas with a reboot totally unrelated to the film saga starring Milla Jovovich. This time Kaya Scodelario ('Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales') will be Claire Redfield in this prequel set in 1998, the same year as Capcom's first video game. The setting is, of course, Raccoon City, the former home of the mysterious Umbrella Corporation. The company's departure from the city has left it on the brink of total ruin and collapse, as well as the enormous danger that lies beneath its surface. When evil finally comes to light, a group of survivors will hunt the company for answers as it struggles not to die. That way, in this installment we will discover the "official origin story" of the T-virus crisis, the zombies and why Raccoon City was chosen to carry out all these experiments.

Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker, Neal McDonough as William Birkin, Donal Logue as Chief Brian Irons, Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy and Lily Gao as Ada Wong. Johannes Roberts ('47 Metres Down', 'The Other Side of the Door'), the director, assures that this will be a more faithful adaptation of the video games than the previous ones.
