Modern tale
Hector Malot's novel dates from 1878. Antoine Blossier sought to modernize it by providing a fairy "filter" and a certain notion of adventure.
Working hard
To prepare for the shoot, Maleaume Paquin worked with a coach. The hardest thing for the young comedian was to succeed in the scenes where his character is crying.
A very difficult sequence
The sequence of the storm in England was shot in the studio for three days. It was a complicated scene to settle.
Creating music
For his film, Antoine Blossier wanted the music to be "symphonic and thematic, like the great French compositions like those of Michel Legrand or Vladimir Cosma, while absorbing the sounds of John Williams and Danny Elfman". He relies on Romaric Laurence, his faithful composer of all his feature films.
