Red Moon Tide

In a village in the Galician coast, there is this feeling in this natives and all the people who go to visit it that time has been completely paralyzed. Nothing changes and nothing will. All the people seem stopped in time, but their voices can be still heard in the air. Some locals talk about ghosts, other about witches and monsters. Three women arrive to the place searching for a man called Rubio, a sailor who has disappeared in the sea.

'Red Moon Tide' is based on the real story of O Rubio de Camelle, a scuba diver who rescued more than forty dead bodies of lost castaways in the sea. This story gets involved with the beings that are present in the Galician fantastic imaginary, as the meigas o the Santa Compaña. For Patiño, during this process of grief, the disappearence of the body doesn't allow to close the wound which has been created.

'Red Moon Tide' is a coproduction of Zeitun Films and Amanita Estudios which, in words of its director and writer, Lois Patiño ('Montaña en sombra', 'Costa da morte'), it gets inside of the sea-wise Galician to do an exercise of understading of its physical and imaginative dimension, where reality and legend fuse and sea and death intertwine more often than the locals would like. The movie is starred by Ana Marra, Carmen Martínez, Pilar Rodlos and Rubio de Carmelle.
