Rapunzel, El Perro y El Brujo

The film 'Rapunzel, El Perro y El Brujo' is a Colombian production from 2023, directed by Andrés Roa Ariza and scripted by Elizabeth Arias Castrillón. It was filmed in the department of Quindío, with the support of Caracol Cine and Dago García Producciones. This innovative "peasant horror" film premiered in Colombian theaters on February 22, 2024 and will arrive in Spain on June 21, distributed by Moon Entertainment.

The plot takes place in Colombia during the 1990s, a period marked by armed conflict and violence by guerrillas and paramilitaries. The story follows Wilson, played by Anderson Ballesteros, a professional soldier nicknamed El Perro, who has been kidnapped by the FARC guerrilla for more than 14 years.

One day, taking advantage of a confrontation between his captors and the paramilitaries, he manages to escape and enters the dense jungle of the Colombian Andes , where he almost dies. After several days of suffering, he is found by Gilberto (Andrés Estrada), a local farmer, who along with his wife rescues him and takes care of him until he begins to recover. During his convalescence, Herrera discovers that Gilberto and his wife Consuelo (Jimena Día) lost his daughter years ago, kidnapped by goblins , mythological creatures that kidnap unbaptized children. Pedro (Álvaro Rodríguez), Gilberto's older brother, has spent years trying to contact these beings to recover his niece.
