Quiet Life

Sweden 2018. Natalia and Sergei are a couple who had to emigrate from Russia after a military attack nearly cost Sergei his life. They both arrive in Sweden along with their two small daughters, where they must wait for the migration council to approve their application to become official citizens of the country. To achieve this, they live a completely normal life, learn the language, take their children to Swedish schools while they also work, and undergo routine inspections by the authorities to make everything easier for the administration and for themselves.

What seemed like it would be easily achieved ends up being denied. Due to the stress of having to return to their home country, the family's youngest daughter falls into a deep coma that ultimately shakes the family. It is believed that this coma may be due to a mysterious syndrome affecting refugee children, which is starting to worry doctors and politicians around the world. Natalia and Sergei must thus face the moral dilemma regarding their citizenship and the health of their daughter.

This film is directed by Alexandros Avranas and stars Chulpan Khamatova as Natalia, Grigory Dobrygin as Sergei, Naomi Lamp as the eldest daughter, and Miroslava Pashutina as the little girl who falls into a coma.
