'Psycho' trivia and fun facts

Shot by shot

This film is a remake of Hitchcock's greatest film. The motivation behind Gus Van Sant idea on this movie was to pay homage to 'Psycho', from 1960, recreating the film shot by shot, on the purest way possible. Making an identical copy the most orthodox way possible.

More than a copy

Alfred Hitchcock wanted the original 'Psycho', from 1960, to open wiht a long shot, a complete pan and zoom over the city that would focus on Marion's hotel room. Sadly, the technology was not yet perfected, and he achieved his effect through a series of pans and dissolves. The remake does a complete travelling shot, as Hitchcock had intended.
