This film tells from a new version the story of "the murderers of lonely hearts", a famous couple of murderers who dedicated themselves to killing lonely and very rich widows throughout the United States.

Northern Mexico, 1949. When the Spaniard Nicolás Estrella, a scammer of little time, will cheat a charming and passionate nurse named Coral Fabre. However, she will fall hopelessly in love with him to the point that she will decide to leave her children abandoned to escape with him. Nicolás will not want to know anything about her since she is not rich, but Coral will not give in her effort to end him at any price. Thus, man finally understands that such a great love cannot be false. To make such a sacrifice you have to love greatly. In this way, Nicolás understands that his past life has been empty and useless. He has never truly loved, he has only taken advantage of women. But Coral has left everything for him and must correspond. In this way, together they will travel around the country planning scams and killing women who are looking for love and companions with whom to enjoy life again.

The film was directed by the filmmaker Arturo Ripstein and written by screenwriter Paz Alicia Garciadiego. The movie stars Regina Orozco and Daniel Giménez Cacho.
