Plot
25 years after the siege, Gervasio Sánchez, winner of numerous awards such as the National Photography Prize or the Ortega y Gasset, and a reference in Spanish reporting, returns to Sarajevo to meet some of the survivors, who during the war had photographed in the middle of childhood, playing in the streets of a city bombed mercilessly. They are now adult citizens, and all of them continue to live in the city, fully aware of the war conflicts they witnessed. What did the war mean for them? What was it like to grow up after the tragic event? Our protagonists revive their stories, with nostalgia and affection, through the black and white images of Sanchez, which they had not yet been able to see.
During the trailer of the documentary, Sánchez explains that "seeing a photograph causes them to turn on their memory bulb and, in the end, make them take out everything they have inside, both positive and negative". He also adds: "There is no greater satisfaction than seeing that those people I photographed are still alive"
Airy Maragall, Àngel Leiro are the directors of 'Postwar Album'. Together with them co-writes the screenplay of the movie Amanda Sans.
The film has been nominated by the Academy for Best Documentary for the Goya Awards.
