According to director Céline Sciamma, the film has no musical score in order to focus and obsess over rhythm and the music that comes from different places in the film, like the movements of the bodies and the camera.

The paintings created by Marianne in the film are all works by artist Hélène Delmaire, who also worked closely to inform on the lines of vision of the character and her perspective while painting.
