Plot
Based on the homonymous play of Woody Allen and brought to the big screen by Herbert Ross, due to Allen "didn't know how to do it". 'Play it Again, Sam', tells the story about Allan Felix (Woody Allen) is a film critic who gets down after getting his wife divorce. He tries to find a new girl who meet with, however he is so shy that don't know how to establish new relations. His married friends Dick and Linda (Tony Roberts and Diane Keaton), try in vain to fix him up. Allan's dating skills are less than stella due to his poor confidence. Everything changes when he imagine his idol Humphrey Bogart giving him advices. This recurring hallucination will help him to getting relax until the point he starts a love triangle with Linda.

With the assistance of director Herbert Ross, Woody Allen adapted his "Play It Again, Sam" play for this film version in only about ten days.
Hollywood legend Humphrey Bogart never actually said the phrase "Play it again, Sam" in the film 'Casablanca', although everybody thinks so due to the tittle of this movie.
The film's tagline "Here's laughing at you kid" was a spoof of the famous Humphrey Bogart line "Here's looking at you kid" from 'Casablanca'.
