Plot
'Pico Reja, the truth that the land hides' is a documentary about the civil war. It focuses on a cemetery located in Seville, where the Pico Reja mass grave is still closed in 2020, which according to estimates could house more than 2,000 civilian victims of the Francoist repression. In this documentary, the pit will open to tell us the true story with exclusive events not previously documented within a story that connects with the present and that is interwoven with the meeting between the singer Rocío Márquez and Manuel Rodriguez to create a melody in homage to the happened. The documentary stands as a great analysis of the past and the future, on the historical memory of Spain. The film is written and directed by Remedios Malvárez and Arturo Andújar. The production is carried out by Producciones Singulares, but it will be distributed in Spain through the Phoenix Entertainment Group. Javier Prieto is the composer while the direction of photography falls to Luis Castilla. Within its extensive list of winners, the Jury's Honorable Mention at the 18th Seville Film Festival, the Audience Award for the best Andalusian film at the 47th Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival and the ASECAN Andalusian Film Award for the best Andalusian non-fiction film.
