Petra de San José

The life of Ana, who lives her youth in Valle de Abdalajís (Malaga), takes a total turn when she joins a group of brave and determined women and begins a charitable work in favor of the most needy, focusing especially on abandoned elderly people, orphans and vulnerable persons. Over time, he managed to found the Congregación de Madres de Desamparados and San José de la Montaña. 30 years after his death, his remains are stolen in the middle of the Spanish Civil War.

Pablo Moreno is in charge of directing 'Petra de San José', while Pedro Delgado and Andrés Garrigó are in charge of the script. The cast includes actors Marian Arahuetes, Olga Mansilla, Asumpta Serna, Wendy Gara, Alba Recondo, Isabell Madollel, Roberto Chapu, Pepe Carrasco, Fran Calvo and, finally, Carlos Cañas.

According to Moreno, the tape "is a nice trip to the heart of the Congregación de Madres de Desamparados, from its first moments in Valle de Abdalajis to its consolidation, through the construction of the Santuario de San José de la Montaña in Barcelona. The question I asked myself as a director from the beginning of the project was: how could a young woman, Ana, from a remote village in southern Spain, achieve so much in her life? And the answer lies in a merciful and empathetic heart with those who have least in this world, with the homeless, in a constant attempt to restore dignity to those who have lost it".
