Plot
'Petra' from Spanish film director Jaime Rosales is a Greek tragedy set on modern times and on the big screen. With 'Petra', the filmmaker is once again part of Cannes film selection. The film tells the story of Petra (Barbara Lennie) who has grown up with her mother, without a male father figure and has not even been told the true identity of her father, who has been hidden from her throughout her life. After her mother's passing, Petra decides that time is up, as she tries to search for the truth and look for him. From this point on, the investigation leads her to a powerful and ruthless man. Destiny's cruel logic and dark sense of humor takes Petra to the limit of her internal forces as she embarks on this story of discovery.
