Plot
'Petites' is a French film that follows Camille, a sixteen-year-old girl who finds out she's pregnant. As a result, a judge decrees that she must be separated from her mother, with whom she has a toxic relationship, and placed in a specialized centre for teenage mothers. There, Camille meets the immature Alison, another of the young mothers in the centre, and rebelliously confronts the authoritarian figure of Nadine, one of the centre's social educators. These encounters will change her life forever.
Julie Lerat-Gersant directs the film 'Petites', a drama that aims to be a window into a current reality: the situation of teenage mothers in society. It is her first fiction feature film. She co-wrote the screenplay alongside François Roy, a first-time screenwriter. Virginie Saint-Marin is in charge of photography, while Marie Cantet and Michael Languens were responsible for the casting process and selection.
The cast includes high-profile actors and novel actors, with names such as Victoire Du Bois ('Call Me By Your Name', 'I Lost My Body'), Louis Bernard ('Unforgotten', 'Love, Death & Robots'), Romane Bohringer ('Savage Nights', 'L'amour flou'), Pili Groyle ('The Brand New Testament', 'Two Days, One Night'), Lauréna Thellier ('Black Tide', 'The Mad Women's Ball') and Wood Victory.
