Patria tells the story of Otger Cataló, a Catalan knight of the 7th century who according to legend has conquered the Catalan territory after beating the Saracens. According to the legend, the name of Catalonia comes from its Cataló name. The story tells the origins of Catalonia in an epic film with fantastic brushstrokes.

The film moves between the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries, explaining the origins of Otter Cataló, a story transmitted orally by Pero Tomic in 1438, a Benedictine monk based in the Monastery of Sant Llorenç.

Under the direction is Joan Frank Charansonnet, known by series of TV3. The cast consists of figures such as Boris Ruiz, Miquel Sitjar, Miquel Gelabert, Àngels Bassas, Ali El Aziz, Joan Massotkleiner, Martí Peraferrer Vayreda and the director himself.
