Parthenope

Parthenope Giovane (Celeste Dalla Porta / Stefania Sandrelli) is a woman who has lived her entire life in Naples, located in Italy. Already being an old woman, the protagonist remembers her life and her years of youth in the dreamlike landscapes of the previously mentioned place. During her twenties in the seventies she meets two men who are seduced by her: Sandrino (Dario Aita) and Roberto Criscuolo (Marlon Joubert).

The three will live adventures together and will be taken through the paradisiacal Italian fronts while they will live an exciting romance story full of eroticism. Is Parthenope a myth, a mermaid that is too enigmatic to be real? Figures like John Cheever, played by the talented British actor Gary Oldman, will try to find it out.

'Parthenope' is a film written and directed by Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino, who has previously signed titles such as 'The Great Beauty' or 'Youth'. The film was presented at the last Cannes Film Festival. Part of the cast is completed by names such as Silvio Orlando, Luisa Ranieri, Peppe Lanzetta, Isabella Ferrari or Silvia Degrandi. In addition, it has been praised and criticized in both ways: some say that its beauty is impressive, while it is also claimed that its message is poor and superficial.
