Plot
'Parasceve, portrait of a Holy Week' is a documentary film that focuses on Holy Week in Seville. This portrays the course of the festival in chronological order, in addition to the passion felt by the public of the Andalusian capital for this important date, transmitting the different environments and sensations that are experienced in the street, with the aim of reflecting in an evocative way the celebration, almost impressionistic, avoiding rationalizing the intangible
"As a child, my favorite game was to recreate the Easter processions with playmobils, play dough and everything I had at my fingertips. They were the days of the year that I most expected, since my family and I came to Seville to see the grandparents and live with intensity the celebration.
A few years later I switched toys and started using a home video camera at all hours. Later, that second game became my profession. That is why this project is probably my most personal work to date," says Hilario Abad, director and screenwriter of the film.
The original soundtrack of the film is composed by Francisco Javier Torres Simón and performed by the Municipal Symphony Band of Seville under the direction of Francisco Javier Gutiérrez Juan, the Dabar Choir under the direction of Jesús Irizo, and the soloists Manuel Cuevas (saeta), José Carlos Garrido 'Garri' (cornet), Pedro Luengo (organ) and the singer Gema Abad.
