Plot
'Over the Moon' introduces us to Fei Fei, a Chinese girl orphaned of mother determined to travel to the moon to demonstrate the existence of the legendary Moon Goddess Chang'e as proof of true love. Fei Fei will build a rocket with her own hands to travel to a new world full of adventure, fantasy and extraordinary creatures when her father decides to remarry another woman and she feels that they would be forgetting their mother forever. It directed by Disney's animation legend Glen Keane, who has worked on productions such as 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Tarzan' and 'Tangled' and who won his first Oscar in 2018 with his animated short 'Dear Basketball' about the figure of Kobe Bryant. The original voices represent the diversity of Asia with actresses and actors of Korean and Chinese descent including Phillipa Soo, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Sandra Oh, Robert G. Chiu, Margaret Cho, and Kimiko Glenn, in addition to the beginner Cathy Ang. The script is signed by Audrey Wells ('Under the Tuscan sun', 'The Hate U Give').
'Over the Moon' is the first film by the Chinese studio Pearl Studio that is not made in collaboration with Dreamworks, since together they made 'Kung Fu Panda 3' and 'Abominable'. It will premiere directly on Netflix without going through theaters.
