Plot
The film is written based on the novel by Viriginia Woolf published in 1928 called 'Orlando'. The novel follows the story of Orlando, a young man of nobility who one day wakes up as a woman. It is the first novel where the main character changes sex in the middle of the story. Something that had never been done before.
One hundred years after Woolf's creation, Paul B. Preciado, a contemporary philosopher, decides to write a letter to Virginia Woolf. Orlando leaves fiction to embark on a life never imagined.
It was the most awarded film at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival also known as Berninale. Recognized with the Special Jury Prize (Encounters), Best Documentary Prize (Teddy Award), Special Mention (Documentary Award) and Jury Prize (Tagesspiegel Readers). In the cast we find Paul B. Preciado, Oscar S. Miller, Janis Sahraoui, Janis Sahraoui, Liz Christin, Elios Levy, Victor Marzouk, Kori Ceballos, Vanasay Khamphommala, Ruben Rizza, Julia Jimmy Postollec, Amir Baylly, Naelle Dariya, Jenny Beláir, among others. Paul B. Preciado, in addition to appearing in the film, is also the director and screenwriter of the film.
