Plot
A movie director in low moments receives a proposal: to make a movie about zombies without any cuts. After accepting, he goes along his team to shot it in a lost factory in the middle of nowhere.
When this crowd of people finds themselves in the middle of the shooting of the low cost movie about zombies, something happens what they will have never imagined: starts an authentic zombie apocalypse in which the real zombies start going after the fake zombies. All this situations will put in danger not only the continuation of the film, but also the lives of the team.
The movie is divided in two parts. The first part has this unforgettable sequence shot in which we can see how the shoot the zombie movie. The second part centers on how the actual movie was shot.
'One Cut of the Dead' is directed by the Japanese Shin'ichirô Ueda ('Okome to oppai', 'Isoppu no Omou Tsubo', 'Special Actors') and is written by him and Ryoichi Wada. The cast of the movie is composed by Takayuki Hamatsu ('Kamera wo tomeruna! Supin'ofu: Hariuddo Daisakusen!'), Yuzuki Akiyama ('Kamen raidâ Jiô'), Harumi Shuhama ('Waga haha no ki'), Kazuaki Nagaya ('Mio on the Shore'), Hiroshi Ichihara ('Kamera wo tomeruna! Supin'ofu: Hariuddo Daisakusen!') and Mao ('Will This Love Is a Checkmate?').

Sequence shot
The first 37 minutes was actually shot in one take. It took 2 days and 6 takes for the cast and crew to get the perfect one.
A ruined perfect shot
According to actress Harumi Shuhama, the cast performed the one-take scene perfectly on the second try, but a crew error led to the cameras stopping during the take and it being unusable.
