Old Dads

'Old Dads' is an American comedy written, directed and starring Bill Burr in his directorial debut. The script is sign with Ben Tishler and Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine co-star in the film, released worldwide by Netflix on October 20th, 2023.

The film depicts the daily life of a group of three friends -Jack Kelly (Burr), Connor Brody (Cannavale) and Mike Richards (Woodbine)- who also own a business together, Trifecta. The three men are around fifty years old and are out-of-date in a world that has evolved much faster that them. The three have also been fathers at relatively advanced age, and they are the oldest fathers of their sons group of friends.

When they decide to sell their company to a group of millennials, their new boss, Aspen, fires everybody over 35 years old, except for them. He wants to make the company gender and carbon neutral. None of the three dads are able to reprimand their misogynistic and political incorrect comments on their new workspace.

'Old Dads' is a kind of semi-autobiographical movie, as it is inspired in the real life experiences of Burr and Tishler after becoming a father at an older age. The film didn't convince the critics, who thought the movie used the same jokes of generational conflicts.
