Ocho apellidos marroquís

The comedy saga 'Spanish Affair' is back unexpectedly with 'Ocho apellidos marroquís'. Rafa and Amaia, Dani Rovira and Clara Lago's characters, won't be the stars this time. It will be a completely different story.

The film presents a new group of main characters. The story is centered on Carmen (Elena Irureta), who travels to Morocco with her daughter Begoña (Michelle Jenner) and her daughter's ex, Guillermo (Julián López). They want to recover the 'Sardinete', the first boat of Carmen's late husband's company.

This conservative and full of prejudice family will discover a new culture, and they will also find out a huge secret: the deceased had another daughter: Hamida (María Ramos). Álvaro Fernández Armero replaces Emilio Martínez Lázaro as director.

In the beginning, 'Ocho apellidos marroquís' wasn't going to be part of the 'Spanish Affair' franchise. It was decided to change its title from 'Casi familia' when the movie was finished. Daniel Castro pens the script.

The film was shot in Morocco, Cantabria and Madrid. The two previous films of the franchise were huge successes in Spain, specially the first 'Spanish Affair', which is the second highest grossing film ever in the country with more than 9,5 million tickets sold in 2014.
