Plot
León is a 19-years-old young who come back home to take care about his alcoholic mother, after having spent their adolescence in foster homes. León tries to go ahead despite have everything against him: he hasn't studies, he hasn't an easy situation at home and he has no money. But León is interested in boxing and he suddenly meet Twiggy, a rebel young girl who lives in squats houses to fun away from her rich and oppressor family. It's London urban riots of 2011 and León has to decide if he join his new friends to the fight or get a new life with Twiggy.
'Obey' is the history of a young boy who tries to improve but his environment and his situation does not allow him. The whole world seems to be against him. The film is directed and wrote by Jamie Jones. Marcus Rutherford plays León and it's his first role as an actor. Sophie Kennedy Clark plays Twiggy and other members of the cast are T'Nia Miller, Sam Gittins and James Atwell.

Prizes and nominations
Marcus Rutherford gets a nomination at British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) for Best Actor Revelation because of this movie. The film of Jamie Jones has also been nominated at Cairo Film Festival Awards, getting The Bronze Pyramid Award. 'Obey' has also won the Tribeca awards for Best Photography.
A passionate of boxing
When he finished his Cinema studies, the BBC asked for a documentary film about young people who are preparing for junior championships of this sport. There are boxing presence in the movie, because of Jones tries to explain why poorest people are attracted by it.
Director's debut
'Obey' is the first feature film of the director Jamie Jones after he won a prize for the short films 'Capital' (2013) and 'The Nest' (2018).
