Those four testimonies give us a crude and realistic vision of the reality from lots of women in the same situation.
The main characters had to face their families and leave their lives as they knew them to start fresh a new era alone. With music by Sergio de la Puente, a script by Belén Santos and photography by Vanessa Alami, this documentary gives voice to women who explain how they did to escape a order imposed by their own families.
The main cast is formed by four women who got out of forced marriages: Aya and Amy are afro-descendants who were born in Cataluña, María is from Bangladesh and grew up in Badalona and Jamila is from Marruecos, born in the South of Spain. All of them narrate their own experience in order to report this type of abuse that keeps going now days.
These four women are victims of this practice and they share their story through Vértigo Films. A problematic is analyzed through real experiences from women who decided to make their own choice and don't allow anyone to be the boss of them or decide about their future. They could avoid the sexist violence and the psychological sequels, but there's still lots of women out there trapped in this situation.
